The American Miniature Cheviot Sheep Breeders Association is proud to announce its 2010 Photo Contest. Our theme this year is Cheviot Charmers. Choose photos that you feel represent the spirit of this title. Each photo should include:

 

  • Photographer's name

 

  • Photographer's address and phone number.

 

  • A title for the shot

 

  • Prizes—1st place: $50 gas card; 2nd place: $25 gas card; 3rd place: $10 gas card

 

  • Each photo must be submitted by its original photographer.

 

  • All photos must show at least one Miniature Cheviot Sheep.

 

  • Members who have paid their 2010 membership dues may submit up to 3 photos free of charge. Please include your member number.

 

  • All other entrants may submit up to 3 photos for an entry fee of $3.00 for each photo. Please make checks payable to Eddie Miller, registrar.

 

  • Each entrant is only eligible for a single award.

 

  • All entries become the property of the American Miniature Cheviot Sheep Breeders Association.

 

  • Entries cannot be returned.

 

  • Photos may be used or reproduced at the discretion of the American Miniature Cheviot Sheep Breeders Association and The Miniature Cheviot Sheep Breeders Cooperative.

 

  • Photos previously submitted may not be entered.

 

  • High-quality, digital photos are acceptable.

 

  • NO PHOTOSHOPPING or other digital manipulation. This contest is about photography, not about one's expertise with a graphical application. This does not apply to photographic techniques contained within a camera's abilities (i.e. a manual shutter release used at night to capture fireworks or moving traffic). Nor does it apply to CROPPING an image. Because of varying darkroom techniques, this usually happens in some form anyway and is therefore allowed here.

 

  • Submissions are due by May 1, 2010 at midnight PST.

 

  • The entries will be made available for viewing on May 15, 2010.

 

  • All photos entered will be evaluated by a panel of at least 3 independent judges from fields including photography, farming & ranching, advertising, and veterinarian science.
  • Results will be announced on June 1, 2010.
  • Prizes will be mailed by June 15, 2010 to the address provided at the time of submission
